SEPTEMBER 2016 NEWSLETTER
October 1, 2016
Dear Friends,
September was a very busy month for us at Ella’s Closet. We have been receiving a lot of donations throughout the summer, and that is a good thing! We even had an anonymous donor take up a collection of new baby/toddler items. For the first time, our moms were able to purchase toddler beds! Thank you to everyone who donated. We even had someone take a donated rocking chair and turn it into a beautiful piece for our playroom. Also, for those that haven’t been down to see the bigger and better Ella’s Closet we would love for you to come for a peek. We know you will love it!
Classes continued through the month which included a 6-week parenting class. Many parents participated and not only learned a lot but enjoyed it as well. The class was so popular we are hoping to have another one very soon. Bible study and Chit Chat groups are also enjoyed. Both of those will be ongoing.
On September 10 the Women of Wellington & CLOTHED4APURPOSE hosted the first annual FASHION4APURPOSE fashion show at Suri West in Wellington. The fashion show was a huge success with many in attendance. My husband said he felt like he was in Miami Beach! It was very well planned and the best part was that 10% of all sales that night was divided up between Ella’s Closet, The Lighthouse Café and Place of Hope. Monday, September 26, we were presented with a check from the monies received that evening. A big thank you to the WOW, CLOTHED4APURPOSE, and FASHION4APURPOSE for allowing us to be a part of this special event. We look forward to participating again next year.
Along with the good, sometimes there are not so happy times. One of our EC families had a tragic fire and was displaced from their home. Through the Red Cross, Salvation Army and many of you that donated we were able to keep them in a local motel for a week, completely clean out the burned apartment, get new clothes and school uniforms and help arrange the delivery of used furniture. When we are able, we like to reach beyond the Closet and help our families when there is a need.
We were blessed to have Roxanne Stein from WPTV Channel 5 come out and talk to our moms about the jewelry they’ve been making. While Roxanne was there, she along with our moms made some beautiful leather necklaces that can be worn as a choker or longer as a necklace. We currently don’t have any to sell as every necklace made that day sold immediately. They will be making some more very soon so keep us in mind if you need a gift and especially during the holidays. 100% of the sales from the jewelry will go to purchase more supplies for the Closet. Be sure to check them out at www.clothed4apurpose.com. Also, the segment that was shot that day will air in November. We will be sure to post it on our Facebook page.
Also, when you make a purchase at www.clothed4apurpose.com or www.smile.amazon.com, a portion of your purchase will be donated to Ella’s Closet when you choose us as your charity.
There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world!
With Love,
